Malema R16 million Mansion

malema_july 4

The South African Revenue Service will be asked this week to perform a full forensic audit into the wealth of ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema amid reports that the controversial politician is building a R16 million mansion in a plush Joburg suburb.
Malema’s modern house is being built on the site of the R3.6m house he bought in 2009 and is a stone’s throw from the “poor” Alexandra residents he previously warned would attack “rich” Sandown residents in his neighbourhood.
The politician, who portrays himself as a champion of the poor, has levelled the Sandown house and is building a multi-storey R16m mansion in its place.[iol

Jay-Z and Kanye West's joint album 'Watch The Throne' will be released on August 2, receipts from pre-orders for the LP appear to have revealed.

According to MTV News, the receipts list 2011-08-02 as the shipping date for the much-delayed record, although no release date has been officially confirmed.

Both Jay-Z's Life And Times site and Watchthethrone began offering the album as a pre-order, in two different versions, earlier this week (July 4).

Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter IV' set to drop August 29

US rapper Lil Wayne's highly anticipated and much-delayed upcoming album, Tha Carter IV, is now set for release on August 29, according to MTV US.
In an interview posted this week, the rap star told MTV News that "the album is done and it'll be out August 29," adding "it's totally done." The disc was originally slated for a May release, then June, and now August, giving the artist more time to finesse the lyrics.

No specifics are yet available as to whether or not August 29 will be its widespread release or just US.

This album will be Lil Wayne's fourth in his Tha Carter series and features Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Corey Gunz, and T-Pain.

Kim Kardashian's Wedding

kim kardashian wedding 2011. kim kardashian wedding

It sounds like Kim Kardashian's wedding guests, and the raven-haired beauty herself, will be arriving in style when her wedding bells finally ring. Kardashian has reserved a fleet of Rolls Royce Phantoms and Maybacks to transport her VIP wedding guests to the swanky affair, according to TMZ.

But the elegant shuttle service from Platinum Motorsports in L.A. isn't just a mishmash of the agency's finest -- Kardashian has requested that all of the $100,000 plus vehicles be exclusively white, how fitting.

So who will be riding in these chauffeured little pieces of heaven on wheels? Fiancé, Kris Humphries' family and the entire Kardashian clan will be transported to the ceremony in the sweet rides.

Although the date on which the Kardashian-Humphries group will be rolling out in these killer whips has yet to be released, what's one thing that hasn't been kept under wraps? Which designer Kardashian may be wearing as she struts her stuff down the aisle. The reality show starlet has been spotted with her mom and sisters meeting famed wedding gown designer, Vera Wang, on several occasions.

This Couple Just Won R1.8 Billion

I do feel sorry for the people out there that didn’t play the EuroMillions lottery over the last couple of weeks, as it rolled over and over, resulting in a jackpot of R1.8 Million (EUR 182 Million). They bitched and moaned about how stupid it was to enter the lottery, while we discussed buying $100 million private jets and islands in the Bahamas.
Do you know how small the chances are of winning that thing? Yes, my friend, we do. And they’re a lot smaller without a ticket. Shame on you for not having the ability to dream. Good luck with that attitude.

This couple from Scotland also knew the chances were small. In fact their chances were exactly the same as our chances of winning (you can buy EuroMillions lottery tickets from anywhere in the world here). And check it out – they won! But you know what? If they didn’t have a ticket, it would never have happened. Fact.

Readers Urged To Check Their Lotto Tickets

2oceansvibe Readers Urged To Check Their Lotto Tickets

The Telegraph and CNN and SKY News are running massive stories at the moment about the single winning ticket of Tuesday’s R1.8Billion EuroMillions jackpot. While one single ticket HAS won the jackpot, nobody has come forward yet!
This from the Telegraph:
The single ticket scooped the huge jackpot after a series of rollovers but nearly 24 hours after the draw was made no-one had yet come forward with the winning ticket.
The only thing known about the winning ticket, which will earn its owner £161, 653,000 was that it was bought in the UK. It is not yet known whether the overnight multi-millionaire is an individual or in a syndicate, or where they are from.
If it is a single player, they will find themselves catapulted into 430th place in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List, close on the heels of David and Victoria Beckham, who share a fortune of £165 million.
The winning numbers were 17, 19, 38, 42 and 45, and the Lucky Stars were 9 and 10. All seven need to be matched to scoop the big prize.

Of Age And Aging: Is Older Wine Better Wine?

Of Age And Aging: Is Older Wine Better Wine?

One of the things that makes wine stand out in the world of beverages is its ability to age and develop. It is a miraculous thing, tasting something older than you are (frustratingly, this gets more difficulty and expensive as you shuffle along the mortal coil). To taste a living thing formed by the elements 30 or more years before can be a truly remarkable experience – even a mind-boggling one. British wine writer, Tim Atkin, recently tweeted, “About to taste a Bual [style of Madeira] made in the year that the Battle of Gettysburg took place. Mind boggling.”
Of course, it can also be a frustration to taste and old wine and find it dead, past its prime, flat, oxidized, having fallen prey to the one of the many enemies nature throws at the bottle during its lifetime. But that makes the good ones even sweeter.[2oceansvibe]

ATM receipt one can only dream of!

Speculation in the US is running wild about whose ATM slip this is after it was found by another customer.
The ATM is in the Hamptons, along Rodeo Drive, which is known for its exclusive designer stores. The Hamptons, in New York, is one of America’s most exclusive residential suburbs, where hedge fund managers, CEO’s, celebrities and more live in endless rows of mansions.
After withdrawing $400 dollars, whoever has this account is clearly still going strong even though the bank charge of over $2 seems a bit steep.

FILTHY, STINKING RICH – AND ROTTEN

This druglord in the UK made so much money that he allowed piles of money to rot.
Anthony Mills, the leader of the ‘Flower Gang’ was arrested in March last year when his scheme of smuggling cannabis into the UK from Holland was found out. He was also an accomplished money launderer, whose biggest problem was finding places to hide his money. When police raided one of his safe houses they discovered mountains of money literally rotting from damp and neglect. [Zaronline]

Nedbank – ‘Make Nothing Happen’

Nedbank – ‘Make Nothing Happen’

A strange number has appeared on the screen of my phone, twice a day, every day this week. I left it – as I do most phone calls – because I was/am usually doing something at the time. And even if I’m doing nothing, that does qualify as doing something these days. My voicemail message notifies the caller that they must not leave a message, but should rather SMS me or email me.
The eighth call from the same number this week, came through just a few minutes ago (I’m currently high on adrenalin) and I answered it, perplexed as to why the caller was unable to follow through with basic instructions.
Turns out it was Nedbank.
Turns out Sipho, who handles FOREIGN EXCHANGE at Nedbank in Sea Point, is not allowed to have a bank email address.
HE HANDLES INTERNATIONAL FOREIGN EXCHANGE AND DEALS WITH CLIENTS IN THE BANK AND DOES NOT HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS.
I find that phenomenal.
A recent photograph taken at Nedbank in Sea Point
Sipho needed a document from me, so I gave him a website address, which details my physical address, as well as a handly map and parking instructions.
Guess what, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO ON THE INTERNET.
AT ALL.
He informed me that they had an inTRAnet.
Wonderful.
That’s like saying you don’t play golf BUT you have thrashed Tiger Woods on the Nintendo Wii.
Someone in the bank handling foreign exchange and dealing with clients in the year 2011 – with no email address? It’s actually so embarrassing it’s verging on hilarity.
Please, Nedbank – get a grip…
