You may not understand the title of Coldplay's new album let alone be able to pronounce it, but "Mylo Xyloto" is a name music fans may have to get used to as the group launches a fresh assault on the world's charts.
The English quartet's fifth studio album hits shelves in Britain on Monday and the United States on Tuesday, and early critical response is mostly positive for a record aided and "enoxified" by Brian Eno.

Bullistic is taking Kwaito music to another level
His song Mamasita has been nominated for the Metro FM Award for Best Kwaito Performance.
This young artist from Umlazi in Durban says he is determined to succeed, even after doors were slammed in his face when he was looking for a recording deal.
It was during the Durban Keep Jozi Warm in July event this year that people took notice of him when he made everyone get down to his distinctive kwaito sound.
His song Mamasita is currently enjoying good airplay both on radio and television. Bullistic says it took him almost three months to complete the album.[Sowetan]

The 'Super Bass' hitmaker – who is renowned for her eccentric dress sense and love of wigs – does not like men to try and impress her with their money and insists she is always "10 steps ahead" of them.

Zuma's Cabinet reshuffle
President Jacob Zuma has fired public works minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde and cooperative governance minister Sicelo Shiceka and suspended national police commissioner Bheki Cele, as part of his latest cabinet reshuffle.
Public Works Minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde earlier said that heads will roll in connection with the inflated R1.6-billion police headquarters leasing deal - but not hers.
She said she would not resign, even though Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has found her guilty of maladministration and violating the constitution. [Timeslive]
ANC launches Zuma Gold Coin
Next year, the ANC will be celebrating 100 years of political activity. In the midst of the celebrations, the organisation will make various precious metals memorabilia for sale in the form of gold coins and other commemorative items. The most expensive of these will be the President Zuma one kilogram fine gold medallion, valued at over R1 million.
Aside from the ANC Gold President Zuma medallion, measuring 10 centimetres in diameter, the ANC Gold Unity in Diversity medallion is also for sale. It too, weighs one kilogram and measures 10 centimetres in diameter, but is cheaper than its counterpart.
A third medallion, the 0,5 kilogram ANC Gold Unity in Diversity medallion, is six-and-a-half centimeters in diameter.
Some of these coins have already made their way on to South African auction website, bidorbuy.co.za.
Price wise, the Zuma medallion is listed at R1 254 000, the ten centimeter Diversity medallion at R1 122 000, and the smallest of the lot is valued at R594 000.
Gold is big at the moment, and the seller (going by the alias “ANCgold100years”) says that their historical value could push the prices higher, even claiming they may be “the most valuable medallions in the world”.
The three 100 anniversary medallions were minted in limited editions of 100 of each, and are expected to increase in value, as they represent not just commemoration, but investment too.
Smaller five-ounce and one-ounce medallions, 50 and 38 millimetres in diameter respectively, have also been minted in larger quantities of 1 000 and 2 500 each. Their prices were at R211 200 and R72 600.
Other items for sale include gold dog tags, gold tie clips and gold cuff links – all plated in 24 carat gold.
The coins were also available through the official ANC Gold Celebration Coin website, at lower prices than those listed on the auction website.

When we track down David Guetta in Paris, he's already been told by his manager about his Top 100 victory.

DJmag informs David that it's been almost a decade of trancers at the top, with Armin (four years), Paul van Dyk (twice) and Tiësto (three times) dominating in the noughties. So lots of people in house music and elsewhere may well be pleased, we suggest, that you've broken the trance…

Rupert Murdoch Is Facing The Shareholder Music Shortly
Rupert Murdoch will shortly face shareholders in the News Corporation annual general meeting that’s taking place in Los Angeles today. It should prove riveting as British lawmaker Tom Watson plans to use the event to reveal new details of what he claims are hidden surveillance practices by company employees.
Murdoch, and his son, James, will both face shareholders for the first time since news of the extent of the phone-hacking scandal broke earlier this year.
Watson, who was granted permission to attend the event, told reporters yesterday that he intends to expose techniques that go “beyond phone hacking” into other technical means.
He also says that:
I want to leave investors in no doubt that News Corporation is not through the worst of this yet, there are more questions for the Murdoch’s to answer.This could spell further bad news for the already damaged News Corporation brand because the company could very well be opened up to civil lawsuits and other legal action.
The company is also currently preparing to defend class-action lawsuits for damages shareholders absorbed after the company’s shares tumbled after the hacking scandal.
News Corporation officials have declined to comment on Watson’s statements.
Earlier this month, the advisory company, International Shareholder Services, recommended that shareholders vote against the re-election of 13 members of the 15-member board, including Murdoch and sons James and Lachlan.
This probably won’t happen though because Murdoch controls 40 per cent of the voting shares through the family trust. He might instead, want to buy himself a certified rapture card.

She began the costly process three months ago with a dermatologist in Sunninghill, Joburg.
The transformation needs daily pills and maintenance night and day. She’s spending R5 000 a month of cosmetic preparations and will have to return for more bleaching in December.
But she told Sunday Sun: “I love the fact that I look younger and my skin is clear.
“I want to be like Michael Jackson. I know that black is beautiful. I don’t hate
being black.
“I’m just enhancing my beauty. I loved myself when I was dark, and I love myself now that I’m lighter.”
The sexy singer – real name Nomasonto Mnisi – is 28 and married to millionaire Jacob Mnisi, who has been footing the bill for all her surgery.
Said Mshoza: “I asked my husband before the whole procedure and he agreed.”
And Mnisi confirmed: “I loved her the way she was, and I love her the way she is now.”
Her family has also been supportive –
although her mother-in-law thinks she’s
possessed by demons!
Mshoza told Sunday Sun whenever she walks in the street people look at her with admiration.
So is there a downside?
Apart from the cost and maintenance, Mshoza must use sunscreen and an umbrella whenever she goes outdoors to protect her skin from the sun and to stop it getting darker again.
“If I stand in the sun too long I feel like my skin is burning and shrinking.”
And Mshoza revealed she has plenty more plans for her body.
“I still have to do my bum and calves and tighten my thighs!

R30m facelift for airport to increase flights
KWAZULU-NATAL’S Prince Mangosuthu Airport has received a R30 million facelift after years of neglect that left it dilapidated.
The upgrade will see the airport, situated in Ulundi, running scheduled flights from Ulundi to Pietermaritzburg in January next year, and later between Ulundi to Joburg.
The airport has been under-utilised since the termination of government subsidised flights in 2003.

PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma has “relieved” national police commissioner Bheki Cele of his duties for his role in the controversial R1.7 billion police lease deals.
The Sunday Independent can reveal today that Cele – who has courted controversy since he joined the police service 27 months ago – will vacate his office at the end of November. Two senior government officials have confirmed that Cele has been asked to leave and will be joining the legion of “problematic” top bureaucrats who are either suspected of fraud, maladministration and corruption, or incompetence who have been posted to the country’s missions abroad.[IOL]

Five Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Gaddafi

African leaders have never been short of quirks, whether proclaiming themselves the Emperor of Africa from a bespoke golden throne (Mobutu SeSe Seko) or considering a hot shower an adequate post-exposure prophylactic against HIV (our own dear President, of course), there’s more than enough weird to go around (not to mention maniacal tyranny). So, as the world not so fondly lays Col. Gaddafi to rest, let’s take a look back at Brother Leader’s top five weirdest kinks:
1. Crushing on Condy
Back in 2007, Brother Leader met the then US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, whom he described as a “darling black, African woman.” During life, he showered her with gifts during state visits, and when rebel forces stormed his Tripoli compound earlier this year, they discovered a lovingly made scrapbook featuring pictures of one woman, and only one woman. Aw, bless!
2. Hello, Nurse!
As robust as he was in youth, old age took its toll on Brother Leader. In order to stem the tide of his gathering health woes, he hired a series of Ukrainian nurses, all of whom were required to see to his every need and call him “Papa” or “Daddy”. The most well-known of these was Galyna Kolotnytska, who was rarely seen away from Papa’s side (except in the picture above, having fled Libya when the bullets started flying) and could only be described by the media as “voluptuous”. Notably, she was among the first to bugger off when the rebels came a-knocking.
3. The Mighty Amazons
Not satisfied with his health being protected by busty Ukrainian nurses, the Colonel also allegedly maintained an all female retinue of bodyguards he called his “Amazons”. These were female soldiers hand-picked (I’ll bet…) by Gaddafi himself from a special training camp just outside Tripoli, kitted out in colourful camo gear and high heel combat boots, and ordered to take a vow of chastity lest their inevitable lust for Brother Leader distract from their duty to keep the old perve alive.
4. Bunga Bunga
Last year, when Italian investigators were trying to bring down silver-haired sex-addict, Silvio Berlusconi (AKA The Prime Minister of Italy, above left), their investigations into his alleged sex-capades came across a 17-year old Moroccan prostitute called “Ruby Heartstealer” (above right) who was happy to enlighten them as to Prime Minister Pervy’s favourite sex act (see title), and also the name of the aging African despot he learned all about it from. Say no more, say… no… more. No really, I can’t.
5. The Bulletproof Tent
Despite a fear of flying, and of heights, the Colonel still liked to get out and about. On his frequent overseas trips, he would routinely bring the world’s capitals to a stand still with his diplomatic histrionics. For instance, on several occasions, the French government was required to clear the Louvre (the world’s most popular museum of art) so Gaddafi could take a stroll through the galleries and not be bothered by the pesky proles who flock to see the gallery in their thousands. He was also a fan of bringing a bit of his Libyan compound everywhere he went, and by “bit”, I mean a retinue in the hundreds, a bulletproof Bedouin tent that he would set up outside the hotels he stayed at overseas (that also required separate transport in its own plane due to its sheer weight), as well as a couple of camels and palm trees to park outside the tent, so he could feel right at home.
Never a dull moment in the Gaddafi compound, was there.
