2 held for counterfeit cash worth $80m

Johannesburg - Two Nigerians were arrested in Bramley on Monday for possession of counterfeit US dollars with a face value of $80m (about R540m) police said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said police acting on a tip-off went to a house in Bramley where the five trunks of fake US dollars were found and the men, aged 40 and 41, arrested.

They seized 18 cellphones, suspected to be stolen, and seven Ingersoll watches, worth R700 000.[News24]
