A scandal has broken out in the local music scene, with DJ Cleo being accused of stealing music from another performer.
The song, ‘Mr Provider’, has allegedly been stolen from Sowetan DJ Madenza Lash by Cleo and DJ Mzi.
DJ Madenza Lash is clearly not happy about the situation and is looking for action to be taken against the duo.
“I was watching “Live” on Friday when the song was played,” he told Sowetan.
“I could not believe it. Soon after that I received a number of calls from fans and friends asking me what was happening.
“I am very furious because Mr Provider is my concept. They just chopped a few things here and there.
“If they think they are going to get away with this because they are more popular than I am, they are in for something else. I will sue them.”
However, DJ Mzi is having none of the accusations, slamming DJ Madenza Lash for trying to grab a little bit of the limelight.
“It is very sad that he claims we stole his concept when no one even knows about him,” he said angrily.
“This guy is trying to ride on the hype that is out there with Provider. It is like someone claiming that Hlokoloza is his. How many songs are out there about Hlokoloza for example? I am not going to entertain him.”
