Julius Malema representing the Poor, stunts with the Rich


The extravagant wedding celebration of Vharanani Properties owner David Mabilu and his long-time sweetheart, Phala Mabilu, is estimated to have cost in the region of R15-million.
The wedding, which was held at the Long Beach Resort, attracted a large contigent of celebrities, such as Sonia Sedibe, ANC Youth League president Julius Malema, Bobby Motaung, Prosper Mkwaiwa and his on-and-off wife Tina, kwaito musician Eugene Mthethwa and Judith Sephuma, among others.
Mabilu's invited guests came in numbers to witness the lovely couple exchanging vows at the hotel that is situated on the beach.

Mabilu, who was born into a poor family in Tshiawelo, Soweto, met his other half 13 years ago in Polokwane. They have been inseparable since.
The couple have three children. Stringent African tradition was followed in facilitating the marriage.

Guests danced nonstop to DJs such as Mahoota, Oskido, Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, Black Coffee and others, alongside Mafikizolo, Jaziel Brothers and Tshepo Mngoma, with his string trio.

Mabilu booked 90% of the plush Belle Mare Plage for his guests. But the most expensive room was Malema's - rated at R14,784 a night. [Sowetan]
