Justice Minister testifies

The widow of a murdered acting judge complained to Justice Minister Jeff Radebe about her husband’s love affairs, the Western Cape High Court heard on Wednesday.
Radebe was the first witness to be called by the State in the trial of Thandi Maqubela for the murder of her husband, acting judge Patrick Maqubela.
Radebe said the widow requested a meeting with him that lasted at least four hours.
He said the meeting even caused him to miss a session of Parliament in Cape Town.
Maqubela had wanted Radebe as the minister of justice to be aware of “the sort of man” that the acting judge was, Radebe told the court. [Sowetan]
